Spooky's Fairy Splendors

Oh! Wanna hear something cool? At 5pm (cst, so 6pm est), I'll be reading some things from Fairy Seasons for everyone on twitch. I'll be in the twitch chat if you wanna chat with me or ask questions. Check it out here!

The things I'm reading are 2nd draft stories and poems. So, they certainly are far from perfect. There's awkward bits. But, I'll be fixing those in the editing phase. And, if I reach the funding goal, I'll have an editor to look over things and point out the oopsies that need to be fixed.

Afterwards, I'll be putting the reading up on youtube and where ever else it can be. If you miss it, it's okay! You can always listen to it later.

Also, there's the last of this week's polls. What sort of accessory should our animal friend have? There's a good chance that the two most popular will be added. Or, whichever is mentioned or upvoted the most when mentioned in the comments. Please vote friends!

I will reveal the rough sketch of our first fairy very soon, before the next set of polls begins (on Wednesday, the 26th).

Anyways, here's some art sketches! The first is something I originally drew for a possible postcard. The one to the left of it is very much inspired by the first drawing, and by something a character in a particular story sees. It's just on a much bigger, thicker piece of paper. The thicker paper is necessary since I plan to use some watercolor. The very last is just something I drew because, well, why not.

Hey, fairy friends and fiends, Fairy Seasons is 62% funded! How awesome is that?

There's still a little bit to go, but we can do it! Please share my campaign. Pretend you're a spore, released from a mushroom, riding the breeze, spreading the fungus among us.

Aside from the hats polls, there's also a poll for picking out an accessory or two for our little fairy friend. I'll be sure to attach that to an update tomorrow.

Oh wow! Another beautiful day for another wonderful poll!

I don't have much today aside from reminding you all to vote on those polls. Oh, and to definitely check out some of the other projects in the Book Bazaar!

We have some that aren't to their initial funding goals yet. It would be great if we could all be funded! It's ultimately the goal of the Book Bazaar as a whole.

I am also not funded yet so, followers, if you are thinking of doing so, there's no time like the present! Though, I do know we are in some difficult times so, I completely understand if not. So, please share my project with others! I want to get funded and I have a feeling a lot of other people do, too!

Anyways, here's a sketch of a fairy I did for the fairy sticker pack. I'll be digitally inking and coloring it soon. Tomorrow, I'll show off a little more art as I remind you of yet another make-a-fairy poll (lucky you!)


So, yes, there's a lot of erasing of legs. I kept messing them up. I'll probably re-add some little deer feet. It would be much cuter that way. Oh, and of course, I noticed that I need to add in the other wings. How I have it doesn't make sense with the angle. But, this is the idea of one of the stickers. So cute, right?!

Friends! I have wonderful news! I can ship at a much lower rate internationally than previously. Aimee Cozza, (of The Lucky Machine, check it out!) clued us into something very helpful.

I can ship to just about anywhere internationally, except the EU (sorry!). Why not the EU? Well, there's a lot of law stuff and I don't have the spell slots to deal with that. I have digital tiers and digital add-ons for those in the EU who are interested in pledging!

So yay! I feel like this makes things a little less stressful for all. However, if it is still a bit much, I recommend the digital tiers if it's easier.

By the way, I attached another of the make-a-fairy animal companion polls. There are five in total, all published. You can answer them at anytime from now until Tuesday, the 25th.

For my future updates, I'll add some of the art I'm working on for Fairy Seasons and pledge rewards. And yes, I will be doing an update a day for each poll. I know with all the automatic emails from Backerkit, it might get a bit annoying. I am both sorry and not sorry.

Part of my feral (perhaps even fairy) nature urges me to annoy. And so, I must do as my nature commands.

One last thing: today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. There are several online events to honor and remember the lives of transgender, gender-nonconforming, and two-spirit individuals lost to acts of violence in 2025. I'll be attending (virtually) one of these events, one hosted by The Transformation Project, a organization near and dear to my heart.

Fairy friends, we did it! We configured our first fairy. I'm going to put it in the kiln to cure. It takes about a week for the pieces to set. For review, here's what we used to craft out fairy (AKA, the poll winners):

What an interesting and beautiful fairy!

One of the high-fey, Blutterbarts, Princess of the Stink Swamp, is looking for an animal companion that's as beautiful as they are. As long as we make the companion with some fairy magic, we'll be still fulfilling our mission to make more fairies. We'll need to decide on body features and the kind of hat Blutterbarts' new companion should wear, as well as an accessory.

Now, onto Book Bazaar news!

We've completed our first week. Yippee! Fairy Seasons is almost 50% funded! I think that's pretty awesome. We have two weeks left and I think we can reach the initial funding goal for this project. 

Please continue to share Fairy Seasons with others. It helps more than you think! And share often! There's quite a few times that someone shared something several times, and at the right time, I saw it and got it. Perhaps, with a little luck, we'll all share this project at the right time.

On November 23rd, The Book Bazaar will be streaming a reading of my Fairy Seasons Sampler. It's read by the author (me!). Be sure to stop in and listen. It'll start at 6pm (CST).
